The hats were sewn by many of our members and the totes were made by Juanita. Of course the women and children are very grateful for these warm items and each year we seem to add a few more to the count. Thank you for your time and creativity. Yvonne has started a group that is focussing on creating bags and purses. Yvonne is wearing a purse she created that can be worn around the waist. Patterns for this particular bag were given to members of the group. We had the introduction of our next Block of the Quarter pattern by Kathlean, timely instruction of using circles in quilting by Sonja. I say timely because we just happen to have a large circle in the next Block. We had a number of donation quilts for the Next Move kids as part of the show and tell presentation. These quilts are of course created by SQC members. For April we had an out of town guest presenter. Jan Hollins one of the founders of SQC was in the Sacramento area from Atlanta, Georgia and held a fun and inspiring Fiber Art presentation. There are some photos of that event in this post. We have also started our first Block of the Quarter quilt block project. Kathleen and Amal got us started on this project a couple months ago and some members have completed this bowtie block and you will find photos of that included in the post.
